Season 23/24 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City vs Ipswich Town | The EFL Championship

Darling crap behave, when played in his correct position hes been one of the rare bright spots in this disappointing season. The agenda of some on here is ridiculous
I wouldn’t see he’s been brilliant at CB, but your point is absolutely correct. We’ve had multiple managers who seem willing to play players out of position when a ready made alternative has been available.

I'm quoting North Hill....in fairness Darling has improved at centre back......Mr Northill has mentioned Darling along with Wood and Cabango as being useless....I was just highlighting that Darking and Wood were brought to the club by his hero

Except no one on this thread was talking about Martin, everyone was talking about how crap we were today and how crap our defensive options are. You then chose to make it all about Martin, who left last June and we're on our third manager since he left. Which then encouraged your fellow weirdos to come out of the woodwork to join you.

It's plain weird mate. It's not healthy. He left last June. That's nearly 9 months ago now. You got what you wanted. You need to let it go.
you brought up our crap CB yet two were Martin picks ......its part of the reason to quote you we have a dogshite team.....Watson didn't bring these two to the club...and earlier in the thread you were calling these players out as crap

Totally agree.

Back 4, back 5, back 3 - it doesn't matter, how much more evidence do people need to accept that Wood, Cabango, Humphreys and Darling are all piss poor centre back options at this level. Physically weak, technically suspect, awful.
Wood and Darling Martin buys keep digging

Wood and cabango havent always been crap defenders, yes there has always been an error in them but both being relatively young confidence is huge. You could argue that our back 5 (including keeper) this year is stronger than last year and that team were only 3 points off the playoffs. Goals win games and not replacing the goals of nicham and piroe puts huge pressure on the rest of the team. It just showed how reliant we were on their creativity and goals.

totally agree.....the loss of Natcham and Piroe I particular have hurt us though I believe Ronald is a great acquisition Williams needs some time how long has he been here? no pre season he has hit the ground running.....

by the way we went that crap today....but how would you know.. watching from your armchair

For the sake of balance, Downes was a Martin buy also.
Downes went for 35 times more than Fisher cost.

You're making a fool of yourself now mate. Tip your last can down the sink and go to bed, quit while you're behind.

that's not balance though given what we are left with.
Yes the sale of Downes brought us some cash but Downes was just one of how many Martin picks?
And this debate was about our crap CBs as brought up by Mr Northill.....and Darling and Wood as listed by him were Martin wants

I heard somewhere that Darling was not a Martin pick

that would be a turnup....butnisnt strange we pick a player from his old club....don't forget Martin gad a fair say in players Matty Sorinola for example came in with a Darling

Start afresh nect year. We'll be ok this season, just. The last 7 games or so aren't the games to be judging him on - we should probably have 4 points more than what we have ( draw today and beating Plymouth).
You could cancel out the Plymouth game at home with a loss at Hull.......making it only 1 point.

Saying that, many would have had an away win today before the game. It's been a tough run of games but it starts a rot and could really have hit the camps confidence.
We need to pick up a good result Saturday up in Sunderland.......even a point would do wonders.

Fingers crossed we have a few bodies back from injuries.

It’s been said so many times it’s a tough run of games but today that tough run ended

We have played all the top four home and away so we now have to pack that excuse away for the season every game left now should he targeted as one we could win

No more rabbits in the headlights
