According to Jenny Rathbone the Labour AM ....

Speaking in the chamber last night, Rathbone said:

“People on the lowest incomes are not able to go to the matches either the rugby, the football or the cinema. You know, let’s get real on this one.”

Of course, she's right.

On minimum wages, or less, people can work all the hours God sends and still need to use a foodbank. Go around Lidl or Aldi and you'll see hard-working families who still need to watch their pennies. It's one reason why when the government took away the £20, it hit families so hard.

Personally, I'd be all for stopping senior citizens' pensions going up by the maximum every year and giving the money to where it's more needed.

On paper she may be right....but we all know people who live off their credit cards, loans and benefits.

There are large numbers of pensioners who have to survive on the basic pension
