Gone to 1/3 with the bookies within last hour. Someone’s lumping on

Until he gets no new coaches and no new players?

Not sure how I feel about this one. Less proven than Duff and a ‘bot acolyte? Oh well, let’s hope he’s a winner.

I'd just finished reading Stu James' excellent article in the The Athletic about the Kevin Cullis debacle, so this feels like hiring Pep Guardiola after that, but it's still a mighty risk.

At least he knows the club, as well as many of the players and staff, and as short as his managerial career is, it's a successful one.

Wincing a bit at his defensive record so far - think County have conceded about 2 goals a game on average this season. But they've also scored more goals than any other team in their division, so...could be a fun one...

Speaking of Stu James...he has an article just up in The Athletic saying we're appointing Williams.

Might be behind a paywall, so here's the main bit:

"Swansea City are set to appoint Luke Williams as their new head coach.

Williams, who led Notts County back to the English Football League (EFL) last season via promotion from the National League play-offs, made a strong impression when interviewed by the Swansea board and is expected to take charge of Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie against Morecambe.

The Championship club are in advanced talks with Notts County about a compensation package for both Williams and his assistant Ryan Harley.

Aged 42, Williams previously worked at Swansea as assistant manager to Russell Martin. He took over at Notts County in June 2022 and quickly won plaudits for delivering an expansive and attacking style of football. Notts County scored 117 goals last season and their total of 55 this term – they are currently fifth in League Two – is the highest across England’s top four divisions."

Let’s hope he brings Langstaff in with him, they had a shocking result on Monday against Tranmere, maybe the players knew he was off.

If it's him let's be positive and hope he's the right man.
Realistically we are not going to poach at championship level and whoever is available with experience has probably had the sack which would be raked up by doom mongers as not good enough for us.

Let's hold fire until we see him holding up a scarf.

Plenty of time for the Gormless Grinner to fuck this one up yet. He'll probably offer him a King Size Mars Bar and a Parker Pen for a salary and Williams will tell him to piss off.

The Notts fans clearly not happy now laying in the insults from our attendances to us being relegation fodder even a comparison to Wrexham fans 🙄 Even a magpie has a food chain 😉
