Bring up the things that annoy or irk you about our present game......

for me....it's

1.Corners taken where the player puts the ball just outside the qtr circle, as if it makes any difference whatsoever...

2. Players needlessly wearing gloves....Anthony Martial is wearing gloves today at Wembley, and it is 14 degrees Celsius FFS!

Players allowed to stand over the ball after a free kick has been awarded against their team. It’s impossible to take a quick free kick any more. Why aren’t players yellow carded for stopping a quick free kick like they used to be?

Giving the ref grief.
Faining injury and rolling over 20 times to get someone sent off, then carrying on as if fa has happened.
The obscene money some players are on a week.
Managers gobbing on the touchline, wos all that about.
If I can think of any more I'll add to list.👍

Players picking the ball up after conceding a free kick. Should be an automatic yellow card.

Penalties. A nonsense of a rule (law) where just because a foul is committed in an arbitrary area of the pitch, it basically results in a goal regardless of the seriousness of the offence.

In a similar vien, referees who call back quick free kicks for no reason whatsoever.

Diving and playacting in general
Time wasting
Clocks in stadiums stopping at 90 minutes
Having 5 substitutions

Player gets fouled and free kick awarded, physio comes on to treat him, player then has to go off to touch line as free kick is taken reducing team to 10 players when the team that fouled has 11.

An ever increasing trend in all countries which refs aren't picking up on any more, not respecting the part of the throw in law which says both feet have to be on the ground at the moment of throwing the ball in.
This is particularly noticeable on long throws where some players these days run up, plant their front foot on the touchline and allow their back leg to flick up behind them with the momentum of the throw, like a donkey kicking out at someone behind them.
When I was reffing, that was always a foul throw.

Often at a corner the ball looks out of the area but apparently from above its actually not.

This is my biggest pet peeve. As soon as the whistle goes it should be a bookable offence to pick up the ball or touch it away no matter how far or in any way delay the taking of the free kick

All of the above, plus:
- The use of commentators who cannot grasp basic English. Some of the pronunciation from Stuart Pearce is just bizarre.
- The goalkeeper six second rule not being enforced.
- Micah Richards laugh.
- Kit crimes, the use of a change strip when it's not required. Even more of a bugbear when both teams use change strips.

At a free kick, throwing the ball forward a couple of yards with backspin whilst the ref isn't looking.

Not stopping the clock, instead allowing the ref to add on arbitrary time for stoppages. Should follow the egg in this regard.

Lino not putting the flag up early enough when a player is clearly so far offside he's in a different county.
