Another serious accident

In dyfatty last night, at the junction with New cut Road. Seen countless accidents there over the years with either cars coming from the Hafod and turning right to go up to Brynmelyn or mostly cars coming from Dyfatty and turning right onto New cut Road. And yet nothing has been done about this accident blackspot after all these years, considering the Welsh Assembly is so determined to improve road safety. There is a simple solution to eliminate this problem, instead of traffic coming from town into the Hafod and traffic from Hafod into town going at the same time why don't they use the traffic light system they have at Fforestfach Cross, where only 1 set of cars are going at any one time. It really is that simple, and would eliminate cars turning right into oncoming traffic at this horrendous junction.

They most probably wont do that due to congestion, strange though thinking of that, down by the liberty when coming off the roundabout to go towards Neath Road, you used to be able to go when traffic was clear, yet they stopped that a while back, strange one that, because visibility of any oncoming traffic is pretty clear.

An asshole cut right across in front of me Friday night at Dyfatty lights going up towards Carmarthen Rd, a lot has to do with the amount of wankers on the road rather than the layout.

They most probably wont do that due to congestion, strange though thinking of that, down by the liberty when coming off the roundabout to go towards Neath Road, you used to be able to go when traffic was clear, yet they stopped that a while back, strange one that, because visibility of any oncoming traffic is pretty clear.

There were a couple of bad accidents there, and that's why they have put a stop to it. Same down the by the leisure centre when you turn right onto Princess way. Could use your own judgement to turn there , not any more.

Thanks, I guess it's the sheer impatience of people causing it, but yeah from what you have said regarding Dyfatty, it needs to be done there as well.

There were plans drawn up a few years ago, I believe to re-jig that whole intersection, not sure what the current situation is. I've seen a few incidents and near misses there in the last year or so.

The problem with that turn onto New Cut Road is that for a split second or two, cars coming up from Hafod get lost in the dip of the road. It looks clear but then a car pops up out of nowhere
