Season 20/21: Millwall v Swansea City Match Thread
Millwall v Swansea City
The Den
The SKYBET Championship
Saturday 10 April 2021 12.30pm Kick Off

THIS GAME WILL BE BROADCAST LIVE ON SKY SPORTS
The Den is now the Old Den and the New Den is now the Den. Not that it really matters any more as the Swans head to South London in search of a win/point/successful pass/divine intervention/shot at goal* (Delete as applicable) on Saturday lunchtime which is the feast of football that Sky Sports have served up for this particular 12.30 kick off.
Maybe it is a good luck omen that the last goal Swansea scored was in a 12.30 Saturday kick off against Luton (almost 7 and a half hours of football ago) so as we cling to a few straws here and there that is the first one that jumps out ahead of this weekend.
The Swans now find themselves 23rd in the Championship form table with just 4 points from the last 18 available whilst Millwall are 4th with 13 points from the 18 last available. That is the kind of form guide we have assisted in other teams turning around in recent weeks so - again straw clutching? - does that create another good omen for us?
Words out of the camp for weeks have been about us grouping together, pushing on, bouncing back and showing what we are made of. This one is not straw clutching but a simple message to the squad which is to stop talking off the pitch and let the actions speak for you on it. Stand up and be counted and prove us all wrong. That is all that matters.
As ever on Planet Swans we have for you some of the most comprehensive pre-match coverage in our matchday thread that will bring you all we need to know over the next few days as well as all the chat during the match together with every post match follow up you would wish to read (and maybe even more!)

Beat Millwall or pick first 3 home in the National. I know which is more likely.

Surely they would have to hoof it though? We choose to.

Shows how things are going when 79% of PS poll responders, including me, predict a Millwall win.
(Now up to 83%. Edit.08/04)
Sad times indeed.
I want Cooper to explain what has changed since the awesome Norwich result?

With three up front we'd have to play 4 at the back but I’d prefer proper full backs (Naughton and Manning) and 'rest' Roberts. After sending off for Wales, being with people that seem to turn his head and the penalty he needs a rest.
Two Real CBs in Cabango and Bennett would leave no place for Guehi.
I'd never have Grimes and Hourihane in the same team ... Fulton in for either of them.
I like you attacking three.

trouble is that Steve Blooper plays our front three out of position, Whittiker was wasted on the wing against Preston and if he's picked again I bet he'll be out there again.Badlands wrote: ↑07 Apr 2021 22:12With three up front we'd have to play 4 at the back but I’d prefer proper full backs (Naughton and Manning) and 'rest' Roberts. Well good news, every game I always bet on a Swansea win, the last few weeks have been costly and the football as we all know awful. Blooper has ruined our team and needs to leave if we stand any chance of scraping the play offs.
But good news in a bid to balance my books I have put a bet on Millwall win, this hopefully guarantees us a 1:0 win by a dubious penalty.

There's a lot of positivity in the poll for this one

I think 0-0 is most likely. We were within minutes of shithousing two 0-0 despite hardly turning up for two games. This time I think we’ll finally achieve our aim.
Re: Season 20/21: Millwall v Swansea City Match Thread
I'm not so sure. Someone mentioned the body language of our players didn't look too good before the Preston game. If they've lost the will, then that will only get worse, unless something changes. Millwall are chasing the play-offs (albeit a long shot), and have won their previous 3 games, so will be buoyant. We've lost the previous 4, and as we all know we've been on the slide since the Norwich game. Sadly, I can't see anything but a Millwall win.
If that happens (esp if the performance is meh), Cooper's position would be seriously in doubt, shirley.

Not sure if its cos the sun is out, I've had a top fried brekkie, the National is on later....but I've a sense of optimism for the game. Even we can't lose 5 on the spin shirley?
Or is it that I'm the eternal optimist who's sometimes blind when it comes to us.
Going for a 1-1.......reluctantly.
