    Players' awards evening (1st May)

And a right back on the wing. And a central midfielder out wide. And a centre forward out wide for five or ten minutes when we were already losing. But it was the squad that was the problem obviously.

I'm sure one day people will run out of excuses for Martin, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon.

A reflection on the season-Duff and Williams.

I guess it's open for debate in much the same way as People who think that whether the Planet Earth is a sphere or not is open for debate.

The results in the run in when Martin finally pulled his head out of his arse and played to their strengths instead of sticking to his idiot process and whining about his lack of support would certainly suggest that it could have at least challenged, which is what I said.

Last season was worse than this one. At no point this season did we go nearly six months with only one win against eleven men despite having a squad clearly good enough (for everyone other than Russy fanboys) to at least mount a playoff challenge.

    Liam Cullen extended contract

That's OK then. A player as adored at his old club and clearly capable at this level as Yates is doesn't become a bad player overnight. Sometimes moves just don't work out. To me the problem with Yates is that we bought him to play a certain way under a certain manager who then left. Same with...

    Wouldn't be the first time.

    Liam Cullen extended contract

Scored fewer goals in more minutes on the pitch than Yates, who seems to be Universally loathed. I hope we're extending his deal so we can get some cash for him in a sale rather than lose him on a free.

Not sure I'm on board with the idea that our squad has been "gradually degraded". The squad we had last season could have made the playoffs with competent management, and arguably the season before that too. It did make the playoffs for two consecutive seasons before Russy got his hands on it...

I'd like to see us work hard for Lowe. Proven and demonstrable Championship quality.

"Made himself unavailable" according to Martin. He's been an almost ever present since, and a key player for us now. Obafemi went to Burnley and scored two goals in one start. Has two goals in twelve starts for Millwall, but not a word about his poor behaviour or otherwise. Maybe not good...

At least it's not just me to whom it's apparent that the stories leaking out of the club during that period were mostly intended to either excuse Martin or make him look good, thus making the source of them blindingly obvious.

Do you get voicemail messages from Russy stirring the shit or is that reserved for the select few?

There are those who will always fall for a nice haircut and a good line in telling supporters exactly what they want to hear. The way the game goes. Actions will always speak louder than words however, and Martin's actions speak volumes. We were told for months that the reason players like...
