Cooper missing community involvement

Steve Cooper will take charge of his side at the Liberty Stadium this Saturday when bottom of the table Luton arrive as our visitors.

The game will mark the first home game for the Swans since 7th March when top of the table West Brom were held to a 0-0 draw.ย  The difference between those two fixtures will be stark as the Swans are ready to play behind closed doors for the first time at home whilst looking to build on last weekend’s impressive 3-0 win at Middlesbrough.

It has been hard not being able to engage with our fans, and that will go for every football club and their communities – Steve Cooper.

Nobody really could have envisaged after that draw against West Brom just what the 16 weeks would look like in between home fixtures but on the evidence of last week’s performance the break has done the Swans more good than harm and a win this weekend could easily see us move into the play off places for the division.

Whilst Swans fans will have to make do with watching from the comfort of their own armchair again this weekend, Cooper knows that a victory for the Swans will do much to lift the spirits in a community that the football club is very much a part of.

โ€œItโ€™s an important part of the lives of many people” Cooper told the official site.

โ€œThey love to see their team play, and we know a lot of Swans fans see it that way.

โ€œWe have a unique support down here, and we will miss it and we will appreciate it more than ever when we do have them back in the stadium.

โ€œWe hope we can put some smiles on faces and make them proud.”

Saturday’s game kicks off at 12.30pm
