Monk – We Wanted It As Much As They Did

Garry Monk drew all the positives out of defeat on Saturday believing that the Swans matched the Champions in many areas

Monk told the Evening Post “We conceded a sloppy goal, it came from a mistake, but there were plenty of positives as well

“We limited them to not too many chances and I don’t think Michel (Vorm) had too much to do in the second half.

“These are world-class players, we’re miles away from them, but in terms of desire and effort we matched them.

“We wanted it just as much as they did and I think that showed.

“There would have been a number of teams who would have had us down for a 4-0 or 5-0 beating, but we know that if we’re anywhere near our best we’ll give anyone a good game.”
