Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is refusing to panic as the pressure mounts on the Wolves boss

McCarthy was speaking after his side lost their 5th successive game last eekend against local rivals West Brom to continue their slide down the Premier League table.

After an encouraging start to the season, McCarthy’s men are now 16th in the table and a first victory for the Swans on the road this season could see them drop into the bottom three on Saturday.

But he is refusing to panic as he said “I’m certainly not going to start panicking

“Nothing changes, and I’d be worried about the next game even if we’d won three on the bounce.

“I guess it becomes more of a worry if you’ve lost five on the bounce, but that’s where we are and we have to respond to that added pressure.

“I hate losing, whether it’s in mid-October, in January or at the start of the season, but we can’t let it affect us because all we can affect now is next week.

“We need to get points. We can’t continue this run and it’s getting more and more important that we get something.

“Of course (the lack of goals) concerns me,” McCarthy added.

“And at the other end conceding goals is also a concern.

“We may have deserved something from the West Brom game, but we didn’t get anything because they were better than us in both boxes.”
