The Swansea City striker is hoping at some stage to get back into the Scotland squad and with a new manager soon to be appointed he has the chance to fulfill his manager’s prediction of a call up.
But heis more focused at the moment of keeping his place in the Swansea squad rather than worrying about the Scotland situation at this moment in time.
“There’ll be a new Scotland manager soon and I suppose that means a clean slate for everyone.” said Beattie
“It might be a foreigner who doesn’t know me or it might be a Scot who does.  But I haven’t played regular football for a long time so it’s vital I keep my place in the Swansea side.
“If I get called up I get called up I’m not losing any sleep over it. It’s an honour to play for your country and I’m a proud Scotsman. But the only thing I’m concentrating on is Swansea City.
“I’ve got to be playing well and scoring goals for Paulo and that’s my priority.
“If I get a call up that’s a bonus”
