Allen Looking To Earn Himself Swans Start

The Swansea City midfielder was a second half substitute on Tuesday night in the win over West Brom and he is looking to earn himself a starting place in the line up as the Swans look to continue their run up the table.

Blackpool are the weekend visitors to the Liberty Stadium and Allen is hopeful that he can earn himself that starting place by telling the Western Mail “I got 20 minutes under my belt at West Brom and the aim is obviously now to try and force a start

“I’ve been in this position once this season already, but hopefully this is the end of those problems now.

“As disappointing as it was to miss out on an U21 game, the international break probably came at a good time for me. It’s helped me get that fitness back.

“But it’s strange to think that people have been talking about me coming back into the team when I’m still so young, especially with some of the quality players we have here.

“The lads who’ve got the shirts did really well in midweek and have made it very hard for me. I’m still learning, but I’m very critical of myself.

“But hopefully I can develop with the more games I play, if I get the chance because the competition for places is as good as ever here.

“There’s a big buzz around the place now.

“That’s what winning games does, and that’s football. There might have been a bit of a negative vibe earlier on in the season, but we knew it wouldn’t be long before things started to take shape.

“The win at West Brom showed that. It’s the kind of thing we expect to be doing and we want more of it.”
