The Swansea City striker scored at both Ipswich and West Brom this week as the team returned from their travels with an excellent four points from the sides at the bottom and top of the table respectively.
His celebration in front of 1500 travelling Jacks on Tuesday said much about his new loyalties and just how much he is enjoying life in South Wales following his move from West Brom – the side he sunk on Tuesday night.
He told the Evening Post “Before I came here I knew how big the rivalry was between Swansea and Cardiff
“You can’t just turn that on for one game, so I knew how passionate the fans are. Since I got here they have been terrific.
“They are really, really good, and they have been brilliant with me.
“When I scored at West Brom, I wanted to show them a bit of passion back to show how much it means to me.
“It wasn’t just because we were up against my old club.
“I am passionate about every game we play — I want to score goals and I want to be successful with Swansea City.
“Hopefully the fans appreciate that.”It’s a bit early to get carried away,” Beattie warned, ”but we are seven games unbeaten now, and we are progressing as a unit.”
