Reading Striker Expecting Tough Afternoon

Reading travel to the Liberty to take on Swansea City with the home side out for revenge after their worst afternoon of the season back in September – they crashed 4-0 at the Madejski and Hunt was on the scoresheet.

But the striker is expecting a tougher test this time around and knows several of the Swansea team including his old lodger Tom Butler.

Speaking to the Reading Evening Chronicle, Hunt said โ€œI know a few of the Swansea lads,

โ€œI played against Jason Scotland, I know Dorus De Vries in goal and one of my closest mates is Tommy Butler on the right wing.

โ€œWe played for the Irish Under 21s together and he was up in Dunfermline for a stint when he left Sunderland. He lived with me for seven or eight months, it was a good crack, heโ€™s a great lad. We missed him when he left but thatโ€™s football.

โ€œIt was good banter the last time we met. I havenโ€™t seen him since that game so hopefully we can do it again, it will be sweet.

โ€œI donโ€™t think I was too harsh on him, heโ€™s a good lad. We didnโ€™t give them time to play and we need to repeat that on Saturday.

โ€œI scored the first goal that day with a header,โ€ recalled Hunt when looking back at the game in September. โ€œBut Swansea are a good side, they like to pass the ball and Iโ€™m sure it will be a different game down there. We know how good they are at home and Iโ€™m sure it will be a hard afternoon.

โ€œThe sign of a good team is when you donโ€™t lose. Theyโ€™re no mugs, thatโ€™s for sure. We need to approach this one carefully.

โ€œWeโ€™ve had a few big results over the last few weeks but nothing is as big as this one right now. Itโ€™s a hard away game, one of the hardest in the league when you think about it. We need to go there and win.โ€

Can the Swans secure an agreement for second loan with Brighton?

There is little doubt that Carl Rushworth was one of the highlights of a pretty dismal season in SA1.ย  ย Clean sheets and a host of great saves were more than enough to give the on-loan goalkeeper a triple win in last week’s awards dinner but with the season is now…
