Swans Midfield Is Best Says Cardiff City Striker

The Cardiff City striker was talking up the Swansea City midfield which tomorrow will be without Ferrie Bodde and Jordi Gomez for the first league meeting between the two sides for more than ten years.

McCormack was a second half substitute in the Carling Cup tie back in September but will start tomorrow as he and his team mates work towards earning back the bragging rights in South Wales.

And McCormack believes that the absence of Bodde and Gomez will hit the Swans hard with the Scotsman ranking them as the best midfielders in this division

“I think we maybe got frustrated a little bit last time, because they were keeping the ball for fun,” McCormack told the Evening Post

“I thought the guys in the middle, Gomez and Bodde, were probably the best in the league.

“It was hard to get near them. Their absence will be a big factor, but we can’t go into the game underestimating Swansea because they’ve got two players out.

“They’re going to bring in players that can fit into the formation that they play and maybe pass the ball just as well.”

McCormack was booked for a tackle on Gomez in the second half but admits that the atmosphere in the game was electric “I thought it was amazing. The atmosphere was unbelievable. It was electric,” said the 22-year-old.

“I’ve been involved in Old Firm games and the Champions League in Scotland, but nothing compares to that derby — it was just a wall of noise from start to finish.

“We want to go to Swansea and rectify what we did there before because it wasn’t good enough.

“We know we can go there and win. It’s all about turning up.”

“We’re going to have to be ready for anything again.”
