Southampton Boss: We Had No Belief

Jan Poortvliet told the Daily Echo “There was no power.

“I had the feeling sometimes we played OK but the end product was not there.

“They made it 1-0 and until that time there had been nothing wrong.

“After that I think they didn’t do anything special in the box and we looked like we could get a couple of possibilities but we were not there to put them in.

“Second half we had the second goal against us and you see we play but there was no belief in scoring, no belief in a better result.

“We are disappointed to have lost 3-0 but we were never dangerous.

“We didn’t have enough power to create anything and their win was deserved because they did more to win the game.

“We need to turn the boys into men and that is all about confidence.”
