Ipswich Are A Proper Footballing Side

Roberto’s praise for Ipswich Town came on the eve of the Swans trip to Portman Road as they look to become the third league side to come away from the place with maximum points this term – three times as many as managed it all last time around.

Back to back victories over Preston and Wolves – ironically the two sides who have collected three points at Ipswich – mean the Swans go into the game with confidence high and half an eye on the play off positions for come 5pm.

Home games will follow in the next seven days against QPR and Southampton as the Championship season gathers place with 14 league games between now and Christmas taking the season past the halfway mark.

Speaking to the Western Mail though on his immediate focus – Ipswich – Roberto said “It’s a fantastic test for us, Ipswich are a proper footballing side.

“We all know that they are potential contenders to get into the Premiership. And we need to be very aware of that, especially when they are at home, because otherwise we could get punished.

“Their recent record shows you how strong they are at Portman Road. And we have to be ready for what will be a very different test from those we have already had in the Championship.”
